I am a sociologist of sex and sexualities, gender, race, and social control. I ground my research in intersectionality, sociology of law & deviance, and post-colonial sociology. My manuscript, Contesting Third Gender Category, investigates the biopolitics of the third gender legal category in India as experienced by transgender women in West Bengal.
